Biography
Richard first started performing at the age of 13 but by the age of 18 was playing dame. Last Christmas saw Richard playing Dame Trott in Jack and the Beanstalk as well as writing and Directing at the Forum Theatre Barrow-in-Furness. Richard spent October Halfterm as Widow Twankey in Aladdin at Blackpool's Iconic North Pier Theatre both pantomimes for Strictly Productons. In December 2014 Richard played Dame Trott in Jack and the Beanstalk with Coronation Street's Charlie Condou at the Princes Theatre in Clacton on Sea for Polka Dot Pantomimes a role he had played the year before at the Eric Morecambe Theatre in Harpenden with Tizwas' Sally James having played Sarah the Cook in Dick Whittington at the theatre the year before with Blue Peter's Peter Purves and Cbeebies Cerrie Burnell. Richard designs and creates many of his own wild Dame outfits. Richard also wrote, directed and played Widow Twankey in a spectacular production of Aladdin at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall after playing Dame Trott in Harpenden. Seven years ago Richard re-introduced Pantomime to his home town of Sutton Coldfield as writer, director and dame for Sutton Arts Theatre resulting in award-winning sell-out productions Including Dick Whittington, Jack and the Beanstalk, Aladdin (winner of NODA best pantomime –West Midlands, region), Sleeping Beauty (winner of NODA best pantomime West Midlands, north) and Cinderella. Richard does spend some of his life out of dresses having performed role such as Malvolio in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, Mr. Woodhouse/Mr.Elton in Jane Austen's Emma, Alan Bennett in Lady in the Van as well as many others. Richard Performed for 9 years as Courte Chamberlain in the Medieval Banquets at Coombe Abbey in Coventry.
